Dr Nusirat Elelu Mourns KWASU VC, Prof. Akanbi

 The Executive Secretary, Kwara State Primary Health Care Development Agency. Dr Nusirat Elelu has mourned the sudden demise of KWASU VC. Prof. Muhammad Mustapha Akanbi SAN who died recently in Lagos. She described the Professor of Law as an erudite scholar and humble servant of Allah who sacrificed his life for human capital and community development. She extended her condolences to the family, relatives, Ilorin Emirate, Kwara state government, university community and bar association. "Only Him takes and gives, may He forgive his shortcomings. May Allah be pleased with his return and grant the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss", she prayed

Tribute To My Beloved Mentor, Late. Prof. Muhammad Mustapha Akanbi, SAN

Some minutes after my dinner yesterday, I heard the tragic news of passing onto glory of my beloved mentor, Prof. Akanbi, whom I hold in high esteem. I was shocked; tears rolled down from my eyes with fervent prayers, hoping the news would be fake. Prof. Akanbi was a renowned Professor of Law whose exemplar and meaningful contributions to human capital and community development are reckoned with. I picked him as my mentor some 15 years ago when his late father, Justice Mustapha Akanbi visited my late grandfather, Alh. Sanni Baba Alaro. He told me about Prof. Muhammad Mustapha and said I should join the fold of his mentees, which Prof. accepted me and started with series of questions.  The Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, Engr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed has described the death of the Vice Chancellor, Kwara State University, Malete, Professor Muhammad Mustapha Olarongbe Aremu Akanbi as a massive loss to the University community and the State at large. The Rector in a condolence message described the late Prof. Akanbi as a seasoned and deligent administrator that delivered good workplace ethics and contributed to the overall development of his institution. Abdul disclosed that the Vice Chancellor who is a great asset known for his creative ideas and impressive approach to work will be greatly missed in the academia. Kwarapoly Students Charged to Embrace Entrepreneurial Culture

 The Rector, Kwara State Polytechnic, Engr. Abdul Jimoh Muhammed, has charged students of the institution to be job creators by going into entrepreneurship. Abdul gave the charge while declaring open the Polytechnic's 2022 Global Entrepreneurship Week organized by Entrepreneurship Development Center of the institution. The Rector, represented by the Deputy Rector Academic, Mr. Isiaka AbdulRahman, explained that the institution had keyed into entrepreneurship programmes by purchasing equipment for the students to acquire more knowledge. Earlier, the Director, Entrepreneurship Development Center, Kwara State Polytechnic, Dr. Adeyemi Olowoniyi explained that the programme was meant to enlighten the students  to understand what entrepreneurship is all about. Dr Olowoniyi noted that activities during the entrepreneurship week were expected to serve in increasing skill acquisition among students who might also serve as employers at the end of the day. RE: PROTEST BY KWARA STATE POLYTECHNIC STUDENTS

The Attention of the Polytechnic Authority has been drawn to an information which has gone viral on social media that the Polytechnic students are protesting along Sango / Elekoyangan Area over electricity matter. The Management wishes to  disclaim this malicious news about the Polytechnic Students, stating that the protest was staged by members of the neighbouring communities who are said to be protesting over power failure in their communities. Please, note that the Polytechnic Students are presently on break, as the institution is preparing to commence a new Academic Session.  Therefore, all Polytechnic stakeholders and members of the public are advised to be guided by this information and always verify anything tagged with the Polytechnic before circulating.
